In 2008, Providence & Beyond will focus on better linking and better doing. A major conclusion from 2007: we need to better harness the collective member horsepower to get important work done.
The first two sessions for 2008 (March 20 and April 11) will help us organize our collective efforts more. We will spend time getting to know each other's passions, present projects, capabilities, linkages and the wildcard. And for the second half of the April 11, we will identify issues and opportunities to present to our spring speakers who will "be in conversation" with us on how to address them.
Please complete this profile in draft and bring it with you for March 20th. We will work in groups to share and polish. Once it is done, it will be posted on a searchable database so that members (and the public) can see what each other are up to. Click here for: Sample Profile from Glenn Bachman
The context for all profile answers is the centrality of place and community to your work and the work of Providence & Beyond. Please answer each question with that context in mind.
1. Passions: What moves you about place and community? What are you willing to do to live your passion?
2. Present your key project: Please profile at least one and not more than two current or planned projects by answering these 5 questions:
- The what: What are you doing?
- Wild dream: What would success look like?
- Process: How are you doing it?
- Group support: How can people in the room help?
- Collaboration: In terms of partners, who is delivering what capabilities (attitude plus know-how) to the project?
3. Declare your capabilities: capabilities combine know-how with attitude. Please state at least two and no more than 4 capabilities
4. Linkages: Who are you linked as a convener of or broker in an active impact-full network?
5. Wildcard: Tell us anything else that will help us all better link and better do, like your interests, other dreams and so on?
