During 2007 there will be five cafe sessions held in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. The intention of the cafes is to bring a visiting thinker into the Providence & Beyond environment to work with the Charter Members on the question of "Sustainable Cities? Sustainable Suburbs?"
The cafe format is in three parts:
1) The cafe opening where Charter Members discuss what they are thinking about and how they are applying the ideas and information taken from their experience in the cafe sessions.
2) A presentation by a visiting thinker from the New Commons Knowledge Network.
3) An interactive component (the heart of the cafe process) where Charter Members take the thinker's presentation and tease it out and into a form to use in the creation of the charter.
The visiting thinkers for 2007 are:
Cafe One - John Abrams February 2007
Cafe Two - Michael Singer March 2007
Cafe Three - Charlie Leadbeater May 2007
